How Does T-Shape 2 Body Contouring Work?

Reviewed by Cheryl Johnson, RN, BSN, founder of Umoya Wellness Spa  ·  July 8, 2026

T-Shape 2 works by running three technologies at once, each doing a different job: low-level laser, radiofrequency, and vacuum-assisted massage. The laser releases the contents of subcutaneous fat cells, the radiofrequency heats the deeper skin to build new collagen, and the vacuum massage lifts the tissue to move fluid and released fat out through the lymphatic system. Running them together is what lets one session contour, firm, and smooth the same area at once.

1. Low-level laser (targeting fat). The laser component targets the subcutaneous fat layer — the pinchable fat between skin and muscle — creating temporary openings in the fat-cell (adipocyte) membranes so the stored lipid content is released. That content is then processed through the body's own metabolic and lymphatic pathways over the days that follow. This is the part of the treatment aimed at the stubborn pockets that resist diet and exercise. It is a form of non-invasive lipolysis, not a weight-loss modality.

2. Radiofrequency (firming skin). Radiofrequency (RF) energy gently heats the reticular dermis, the deeper layer of skin, to trigger collagen remodeling (neocollagenesis) — the body's production of new collagen. New collagen deposits over roughly 8–12 weeks after each session, which is why skin firming keeps improving after a series ends, not only during it. This is what keeps a treated area from looking loose as its contour changes, and it is not chromophore-dependent, so it does not rely on heating pigment to work.

3. Vacuum-assisted massage (drainage & cellulite). A vacuum applicator with rollers lifts and massages the tissue. This boosts circulation and lymphatic drainage — helping the body clear the released fat and reduce fluid retention — while the mechanical action helps smooth the fibrous structure that gives cellulite its dimpled look.

Why combine them? Used alone, each technology addresses only one part of the problem: fat reduction without skin tightening can leave an area loose; skin tightening without drainage misses the fat and fluid. Running all three together is the mechanism, and it is why results build progressively across a planned series of sessions rather than a single visit. T-Shape 2 is a body contouring and skin-tightening treatment, not a weight-loss program — it works best for people near their goal weight who want to refine specific areas, and results vary from person to person.
